HOW THE JEWISH MESSIAH BECAME A CHRISTIAN ICON

By Contributor, Mark Kigler

All doctrinal issues aside,Yeshua(Jesus) has had a PR problem for the last 2,000 years. With press agents like Constintine and Martin Luther, not to mention that mass campaign, the 'Spanish inquisition', is it any wonder Jews are not coming in huge numbers to acknowledge their Messiah.

The "success" by mainstream Christianity to turn the "King of the Jews" into the Savior of ALL Nations, with less than a passing reference to His being a Jew,

has sold this non-Jewish,white Anglo-Saxon Protestant-Ham and cheese -eating,blue-eyed ,son of the most high into a poster boy for everything right with Christianity, and everything wrong with Judaism.

Has Yeshua/Jesus sold out ? G-d forbid!  What has happened is 2000+ years of anti-semitic rhetoric that began shortly after the gradual demise of jewish representation on the Jerusalem Council and continued on through the rule of Emperor Constantine and the "holy" Roman Empire. It has continued to be fed by events such as pograms, ghettos,c rusades and the holocaust, many unfortunately with the support of the churches in Europe.

Jewish-Christian "relations" have improved in the end of the 20th century into the 21st century. In several cases, churches have begun to take an interest in the jewish roots of their faith and the "jewishness" of their Messiah. Is it enough? Most churches still worship on Sunday. Most churches still celebrate Christmas and Easter. What's wrong with that?

It is beyond the scope of this article to go into a long history and explanation of what's wrong? Most of us who have internet access can easily google the history of each of these holidays to explore the true meanings behind them.

Fact: Jesus was and IS STILL Jewish.

How many gazillions of times do we hear the line; What Would Jesus Do? Well, He would not be doing all these pagan and non-Judaic practices adopted by the church?

How in heavens name can a Jew recognize their Messiah, when we decorate and accessorize him with all this crazy non-Kosher stuff?

And we wonder why the Jewish person we share with just doesn't "get it"? Bring back Yeshua(Jesus) the Jew,who was a Torah-observing, Kosher keeping, righteous servant of the Most High. That Kind of a representation may help to melt the scales off more Jewish eyes than the present Constintinian non-Jewish model that has been the norm for thousands of years.

If you are a member of the cat family and you are told you are about to meet the head cat,the leader., and a big dog pops out, aside from fear, wouldn't you be the least skeptical? You KNOW the difference.

A Jew "knows" what a Messiah would be like and you pull out a non-semitic looking,non-torah observing, goyish(gentile) sounding person. You might as well have offered them that bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.

I hope this helps,somewhat.

Treat your Jewish friends and neighbors with love and repect befitting a non-Jewish follower of Yeshua. Take one out for a nice corned beef sandwich.  Make mine  Kosher corned beef on rye bread with a touch of mustard!
